Moke River CleanupI am coordinating a river cleanup benefit on July 12th.
So far everyone is receptive to the idea. I have been thinking about doing it since I went down the river with my family last year. It was the first weekend after the 4th of July. There was alot of junk in the river like abandoned rafts and beer cans ect., stuff that we grabbed out of the water as we floated down the river in our canoe. I saw a 12V car battery sitting at the bottom in one location. I think it is probably still there. As I write this I am more motivated with a resolution than a complaint. The steelhead count has increased in this stretch over the past few years. I am pleased to announce that we will be performing a river cleanup from the Fish Hatchery to Mackville Rd. on July 12th. Allright so deatils: 7/12/08 Entry from Fish hatchery at 9:30am. 25800 North McIntire Rd Clements Ca. 95227 Exit at: Mackville Road Clements Ca. Fill trucks with garbage at Mackville road. Take to Harney Lane Dump. Get Cleaned up and head to the Tin Roof for the afterparty... Doors Open at 5pm Live music starts at 7pm Optional $5.00 Cover at the door unless you were part of the cleanup party then you are not allowed to pay. ![]() ![]() If you are one of the 2 people that read my blog then let me know what you think. ![]()

latest and greatestThe group has played about 30 shows or so and we are coming up on our first anniversary as a complete lineup with Featherston.
I cant say we havent had a decent year together. We dont argue alot. we play cohesively at shows. We practice regularly. We are about to get a trailer which is a pretty cool first achievement as a group. We are working on better original music. At first we were planning on heading straight into the studio to record some more. However the need for a trailer to reduce wear and tear on the equipment is needed. Our stuff is getting hammered! Lodi Beer Co. is a great place for us. We have made some new frenz this year too. Tara Marie is our #1 Street Teamer extrordinaire. She filmed some video footage the Tin Roof show where Schmitty set up his lights. Schmitty is running his side biz Valley Venues and doing Lights and DJ'ing. Dave Sumner has been stopping in at alot of our shows rocking the hand percussion. We played with Minor Dischord the other night at Tin Roof and these guys are one of the finest bands we have played with. Go to a Minor D show and you will love em. They have the Sesame Street Rock feel-Its vintage and its fecking ILL. The guys from Cuesta Drive have been killing the Sacramento scene and invited us to one of thier shows a while back. It was good to see how the local big boys throw down-they pack a house like I wish we did and throw a killer presentation. Those are my top 2 local faves though for shure. I am now currently checking a band called Passafire from Savannah, Georgia. They got the good vibe reagge thing going. I cant get enough of em. Matter of fact I an going to thier show in Reno tommorow. They are opening for Van Halen. Our monitor amp is taking a dump on us so were looking at monitor systems right now. Tara got video footage of us playing a new song called My Machine at the Tin Roof last Saturday. I recommend that you check it out-sounds great! American Songwriter Competition reviewed "On Display" and said a few good things about it that I will post on our press page. We were in the local paper a couple times this year too. We are talking about renting out a room in downtown lodi for rehearsals instead of Jeff's living room. Also the next recording is probably going to be a 3 or 4 song LP. We are taliking about ditching the whole digital thing and recording on 2" analog. Ditching the editing and special effex ect and recording a more raw sound.

HybernationWe are getting ready to take a break and develop new material for the next record. Since we havent been able to do this with Dave yet we are anticipating a focused spin our existing style with some def. improved bass line/pocket action. This is where we get to the biz of making the next record. The talking stops and the action begins. The nuts and bolts foundation of our summer launch. By the end of next year we anticipate some serious local momentum. What has happened in 2007 has been a learing experience. Our live set up/tear down times are like clockwork. We are getting comfy with the audience. We are also proud to claim that every venue has welcomed us back for another performance save Willemina's. So It appears that we are going over well with most, but stil rock enough to be disliked by some. Gotta love it. But back to the new material. We are going to grab on with both hands and begin a focused style development in the genre we are flagging under the RD5 record label, Greasy Indie Rock. Everyone in the group is pumped and focused. We expect nothing less than the most undeniable epic sophmore release. Gratitude to the folks sticking in there with us. Wherever we go-you go. Thank you to all the people who have been downloading us on iTunes and off of our website because it is breathing life into the next record so keep those downloads coming!
